3rd Test: Sri Lanka bowled out for 201 in reply to India’s 312

Ishant-SharmaIshant Sharma took five wickets, as Sri Lanka bowled out for 201 in reply to India’s first innings total of 312, conceding a lead of 111 runs. At one stage, Sri Lanka were in deep trouble with 47/6, but they recovered well to surpass 200.

For Sri Lanka, Kusal Perera (55), Dhammika Prasad (27) and Rangana Herath (49) showed great resistance. Dinesh Chandimal scored 23. While Ishant took 5 wickets, Amit Mishra and Stuart Binny took two wickets each. Umesh Yadav took one wicket. R Ashwin remained wicket-less.

As the pitch is not showing good sign and the outfield has become faster, India would be looking forward to score quickly and extend the lead to 400 or so before setting a victory target for Sri Lanka. Ishant Sharma’s 5/54 is the best figure by any Indian fast bowler in Sri Lanka.
