Akshar Patel replaces Injured Ravindra Jadeja

20-year-old slow left-arm orthodox bowler Akshar Patel will replace injured Ravindra Jadeja for the remaining Test matches in Australia. Currently, Australia is leading the four-match series 2-0 after beating India in Adelaide and Brisbane. The next Test match starts on Boxing Day (December 26) in Melbourne.

Ravindra Jadeja, who is suffering from a shoulder injury, will return to India to undergo a rehabilitation program. Akshar made his ODI debut earlier this year. He has so far played 9 ODIs and taken 14 wickets. He impressed with his bowling during the ODI series against Sri Lanka, which India won 5-0.

Akshar is currently playing in the Ranji Trophy. Playing for Gujarat, he has taken four wickets against Saurashtra on Sunday.
