ONI Bureau: England opener Alastair Cook has announced his retirement from International Cricket following the conclusion of England’s ongoing Test series against India.
The 33-year old Cook, who also captained England, record 59 Tests and 69 ODIs. He is the youngest player to complete 12,000 Test runs. Cook has scored a record 32 Test centuries for England.
However, his form has decreased in recent times and he has decided that now is the right time to call it a day. Reportedly, he will continue to play cricket domestically, for his county Essex.
