Bowlers put Sri Lanka in command in Kolkata Test

INDvSLInsight Bureau: Rain played the spoilsport in Kolkata Test, but Sri Lankan bowlers took huge advantage of the weather conditions and put themselves in a strong position at the end of Day 3.

India bowled out for a paltry 172 in the first innings. Cheteshwar Pujara was the top scorer with 52. Wriddhiman Saha (29), Mohammed Shami (24) and Ravindra Jadeja (22) were the other contributors. Suranga Lakmal took 4 wickets, while Lahiru Gamage, Dasun Shanaka and Dilruwan Perera took two wickets each.

Lokesh Rahul and Virat Kohli failed to open their account, while Dhawan (8), Rahane (4) and Ashwin (4) were the other top failures for India.

Sri Lanka finished Day 3 at 165/4. Samarawhickrama made 23, while Lahiru Thirimanne (51) and Angelo Mathews (52) scored fifties. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav took 2 wickets each.
