Hockey World Cup 2018: Netherlands thrash Malaysia 7-0

ONI Bureau: European superpower The Netherlands decimated Malaysia by a margin of 7-0 in a Pool D game at the Hockey World Cup 2018 at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. The Dutch had been on a rampage from the very first minute and they scored goals in every quarter.

Jeroen Heartberger scored a hattrick with goals in 12th, 29th and 60th minutes. Mirco Pruijser (21st), Mink Van Der Weerden (35th), Robbert Kemperm (42nd) and Thierry Brinkman (57th) were the other scorers. Malaysian defence was very weak and fragile and their forward line too failed miserably.

Jeroen Heartberger was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’.
