India beat West Indies in 3rd T20; clinch Series 3-0

ONI Bureau: An explosive knock of 92 off 62 balls by Shikhar Dhawan helped India win a cliffhanger against the West Indies in the 3rd and final T20 in Chennai and clinch series 3-0.

Earlier, West Indies posted 181/3 in 20 overs. Shai Hope (24), Shimron Hetmyer (26), Darren Bravo (43*) and Nicholas Pooran (53*) were the top scorers. For India, Yuzvendra Chahal took 2 wickets.

Skipper Rohit Sharma departed early, while Lokesh Rahul too failed to hold on for long. However, Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant (58) added 130 runs for the 3rd wicket to put India on path of victory.

The last two overs were very tense as West Indies bowlers tried their best to put pressure on the Indians. To score just 8 runs in the last two overs, India lost both Pant and Dhawan and took the game to the last ball. But, Manish Pandey scored the winning run off the last ball of the match. India reached 182/4 in 20 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.

Shikhar Dhawan was declared ‘Player of the Match’, while Kuldeep Yadav was declared ‘Player of the Series’. Fabian Allen must be hailed for the excellent last over.
