Indian Pace Quartet win Johannesburg Test

ONI Bureau: For the first time in the history of Indian Test cricket, pacers took all 20 wickets, as India registered an emphatic 63-run win over South Africa in Johannesburg Test. The Proteas win Series 2-1.

Chasing a victory target of 241, South Africa resumed from the overnight score of 17/1. Dean Elgar who was stranded at 86*, added 119 runs with Hashim Amla for the second wicket, as the Proteas looked all set for a comfortable victory.

India-Shami-South-AfricaBut, the Indian pacers bounced back to wreck the South African innings. South Africa bowled out for 177 and lost the match by 63 runs. Amla scored 52. For India, Mohammed Shami took 5 wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma took 2 wickets each.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who took 4 wickets in the match and played two valuable innings of 30 and 33, was declared ‘Player of the Match’. Vernon Philander was declared ‘Player of the Series’.
