Sourav Ganguly appointed as President of Cricket Association of Bengal

Sourav-GangulyFormer India captain Sourav Ganguly has been appointed as the new President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). He will replace late Jagmohan Dalmiya, who passed away earlier this week. The announcement was made by West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee.

The senior CAB officials as well as the state government officials were present at the meeting between Mamata Banerjee and Sourav Ganguly. Later, Ganguly (Dada) confirmed that the decision was unanimous.

Late Jagmohan Dalmiya’s son Avishek Dalmiya has been appointed as one of the two Joint Secretaries. He replaced Sourav Ganguly. Subir Ganguly will be the other Joint Secretary. Biswarup Dey will continue as the Treasurer. The 121-member CAB will ratify the decision later.
