St. Lucia Test: R Ashwin, Wriddhiman Saha hit Hundreds

Ravi Chandran Ashwin scored his 4th Test hundred – all against the West Indies and well supported by Wriddhiman Saha with his maiden hundred to help India post a respectable total in the first innings of 3rd Test match in St. Lucia.

India were 126/5 at one stage. But, Ashwin and Saha added 213 runs for the sixth wicket to save India from any humiliation. This is the first time Indian batsmen scored hundreds in the same innings at No. 6th and 7th positions.

India scored 353 in the first innings. Lokesh Rahul (50), Rahane (35), Ashwin (118) and Saha (104) were the top scorers. Other batsmen failed to reach double digit. For West Indies, Alzarri Joseph and Miguel Cummins took 3 wickets each. Gabriel and Chase took two wickets each.

In reply, West Indies were 107/1 at stumps on Day 2. Kraigg Brathwaite is batting on 53. Ashwin scored his second Test hundred in this ongoing series.
