T20 World Cup: South Africa beat Sri Lanka by 8 Wickets

Although they failed to qualify for the semifinals, South Africa registered a consultation win over defending champions Sri Lanka (which also failed to qualify for the last four) to end their T20 World Cup campaign on a winning note.

Earlier, Sri Lanka posted 120 all out in 19.3 overs. Chandimal (21), Dilshan (36) and Shanaka (20*) were the top scorers. For South Africa, Abbott, Phangiso and Behardien took two wickets each.

South Africa reached 122/2 in 17.4 overs and won the match by 8 wickets. Hashim Amla was the top scorer with 56*. Faf du Plessis (31) and AB de Villiers (20*) were the other contributors. Phangiso was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
