US Embassy condemns killing of Indian Engineer in Kansas Shooting

The US embassy in New Delhi has strongly condemned the shooting incident in Kansas on Wednesday that killed an Indian techie Srinivas Kuchibhotla and others injured.

US Chargé de Affaires MaryKay Carlson on Friday said in a statement, the US is a nation of immigrants and welcomes people from across the world to visit, work, study, and live. She said, US authorities will investigate thoroughly and prosecute the case.

Carlson said, the alleged shooter is in custody and is expected to be prosecuted for the crime. The embassy also extended condolences to the family and friends of the victim and wished a full and speedy recovery to those who were injured.

Notably, Indian engineer Kuchibhotla was killed and two others were injured when Adam Purinton , a 51-year old American navy veteran, opened fire on them in a crowded bar in Kansas City in a racially motivated hate crime. Purinton was yelling “get out of my country”, while shooting.
