Doctor Couple’s Murder in Bhubaneswar: Cops remain Clueless

Chandrasekharpur double murder (4)Bhubaneswar, Nov 16: The murder of elderly doctor couple in the wee hours of Sunday has raised the question of security of elderly people in the city. Even after 24 hours of the murder, the police are clueless about the persons involved  in the cold blooded murder that occurred in the wee hours of Sunday here.

In a shocking incident, an elderly doctor couple was found murdered at their resident at VIM 608, Sailashree Vihar under Chandrasekharpur police station on Sunday morning. As per the police, the crime took place between 5:45 am and 6:15. The couple, identified as Prafulla Mishra (73), an ophthalmologist and his gynecologist wife Sushma Mishra (73).

Chandrasekharpur double murder (5)The incident took place, when the couple returned to their home after visiting a temple in the areas. As per police, the couple sustained serious injuries in their bodies. Sushma was hit with a hard object on her head which led to her death on the spot, while Prafulla was strangulated to death. Police rushed the spot after getting information about the murder of a doctor couple in Chandrasekharpur. Police found that all the articles, which appeared to be a case of loot incident that ended up with murder of the elderly couple at their resident.

Police said that some anti-social elements might had entered into the house with a motive to loot, but they attacked the couple finding them in the inside the house. However, investigating into the murder case, the police have detained nine persons including some part-time drivers those were employed by the doctor couple. On Sunday, police detained three maid servants in the murder case trying to establish link the crime.  However, the police are clueless about the murder.
