Odisha Cadre IPS M Nageswar Rao appointed CBI Joint Director

The 1986-batch IPS officer of Odisha cadre, M Nageswar Rao, has been appointed as the Joint Director of the CBI. He was serving as the ADG, Railways in Odisha prior to this appointment.

Nageswar Rao basically hails from Warangal in Andhra Pradesh. He headed the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) long ago and has been the only IPS officer till date to occupy the top post at BDA.

Mr. Rao also served as the IG, CRPF during the Kandhamal riots in 2008 and played a key role in diffusing the tension.
