5 Relatives of BBSR Dy Mayor grab Houses under Rajiv Awas Yojana

The Odisha State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday alleged that 5 relatives of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Deputy Mayor K. Shanti grab houses under Rajiv Awas Yojana.

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s State vice president Sameer Mohanty talking with media persons said that BMC Deputy Mayor K. Shanti has provided the the pucca house which is under the ‘Rajiv Awas Yojana’  scheme to his relatives.

On June 13 by the Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik had launched the project and provided these houses to the list of beneficiaries which was illegal as a case in connection with selection of names in the beneficiaries’ list is pending before the Orissa High Court, the BJP Party alleged.

In his defense BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena said that the allegations which came from opposition are totally false. As per the survey prepared list pucca houses are provided to the beneficiaries. No houses has been provided as per any list, he added.

Notably, the Orissa High Court had sent notices General Administration department officials, BDA vice chairman and BMC Commissioner in connection with the survey prepared list pucca houses for the Rajiv Awas Yojana.
