Monsoon arrives in Odisha: More Rainfall by June 17

The south west monsoon in Odisha and rainfall has occurred different places in north and coastal Odisha.

Due to rainfall in different places of coastal region such as Mayurbhanj and Bhadrak, temperature decreases. Balasore recorded rainfall of 3 cm. Bhubaneswar recorded temperature at 31.5 degrees Celsius whereas humidity at 94 per cent, similarly Cuttack recorded 31 degrees Celsius and Baklasore 31.7 degrees Celsius, the IMD report said.

After rainfall also heat wave continued in western part of Odisha. Around 7 places in the State recorded as the highest temperature above 40 degree Celsius whereas Hirakud registered the highest temperature at 42.6 degrees Celsius.

IMD Regional Director S C Sahu said that the possibility of monsoon arrival in Odisha is expecting by June 16 and 17.
