Monsoon Session of Odisha Legislative Assembly begins today

The Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly begins today. Out of total eight working days in the session, the State government plans to move 12 bills. The session will conclude on September 29.

The session is all set to be stormy as both the opposition Congress and BJP have  decidide to corner the Government on various issues, including tribal killing by police in Kandhamal, Malnutrition deaths in Nagada village,Dana Majhi carrying his wife’s dead body on shoulders,  suicide of Home Guard Sandip Hati., Polavaram project and failure of the tripartite meeting on the Mahanadi issue.

BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik said his party would counter the opposition attack by prominently raising issues like Mahanadi, Polavaram and central fund cut under different schemes.
