India stare at defeat in Centurion Test

ONI Bureau: Unless some miracle happens, Team India is on the course to lose the second Test match in Centurion and the series too against South Africa. The Proteas took firm control of the Centurion Test at stumps on Day 4.

Earlier, South Africa bowled out for 258 in the second innings, setting a victory target of 287 for India. Dean Elgar (61), AB de Villiers (80) and AB de Villiers (48) were the top scorers. For India, Mohammed Shami took 4 wickets, while Bumrah took 3 wickets. Ishant Sharma bagged 2 wickets.

Chasing a victory target of 287, India lost Murali Vijay (9), Lokesh Rahul (4) and Virat Kohli (5) with just 26 runs on board. At stumps, they finished at 35/3. Lungisani Ngidi took two wickets.

India need 252 runs more to register a historic win, while South Africa need the remaining 7 wickets to win the match and series.
