West Bengal to observe Rosogolla Day on Nov 14; No GI Tag for Odisha Yet

ONI Bureau:  To commemorate the first anniversary of the Rosogolla getting Geographical Indication tag (GI tag) as ‘Bengal’s Rosogolla, West Bengal Government will observe ‘Rosogolla Day’ on November 14.

As per report, varieties of rosogollas would be showcased in stalls of the ‘Mishti Hub’ (Sweetmeat Hub).

Worth mentioning, on November 14, 2018, West Bengal had received the GI tag for ‘Bengal’s Rosogolla’ while the Odisha failed to get GI tag till date. Odisha is in the process of obtaining the GI tag for Odishara Rasagola.
