Terrorists strike Police Station in Kathua, 3 Cops Killed

At least one J&K policeman and two CRPF jawans were among the casualties when some militants stormed into a police station in Kathua district in Jammu and opened indiscriminate fire at the policemen. One civilian was also killed in the firing. The incident occurred at Rajbagh police station in Kathua district this morning.

The militants are armed with automatic weapons and grenades. At least nine policemen were injured too. The terrorists have reportedly taken 7-8 hostages. Firing is still on, as additional forces have been rushed to the spot. Both militants were later gunned down.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is monitoring the situation and is in touch with the heads of security agencies in the state. “HM spoke to the DGP of J&K and the heads of other security agencies regrading the terrorist attack in Kathua district,” tweeted the HMO Twitter page.

Pakistan’s ISI and LeT are being blamed for the terror attack. While, PDP had maintained a stoic silence, National Conference, BJP and Congress have condemned the cowardly act in strong words.
