AIIMS, Bhubaneswar celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day

AIIMS, Bhubaneswar celebrated its third foundation day on Wednesday in the capital. Chief Secretary, Gokul Chandra Pati graced the occasion as chief guest and President of Public Health Foundation of India, Prof. K. Srinath Reddy, was the guest of honour.

Dean of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, Prof. Bhatia delivered welcome address in the beginning of the function. In his address, Director, Prof. A. K. Mohapatra, thanked staff all the members of the institution for their contribution and for the achievement. Addressing on the occasion, Prof. Reddy said that AIIMS, Bhubaneswar is ahead of five other second generation AIIMS in the country. And, this will surpass the glory of original first generation AIIMS.

Speaking on the occasion, G.C.Pati, chief guest, became nostalgic remembering how good Prof. Mahapatra, Director is, AIIMS is a dedicated and hard working doctor. Pati remembered one encounter with Prof. Mahapatra as a patient and how he took good care of him not out of turn but at par with other patients. He expressed his happiness on the fact that AIIMS, Bhubaneswar is ahead of its clone and at the same time emphasized on the fact to initiate better tertiary care level health facility at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar like Organ Transplant facility and Comprehensive Alternate Health Care facility.

At the end Prof. D.K.Parida presented vote of thanks. Many events were organized to mark the foundation day function in Bhubaneswar.
