Documentary on Acclaimed Journalist Basant Das Released

A documentary capturing the life and achievements of internationally acclaimed journalist Mr Basant Das has been released. In a special function organized to commemorate the 75th anniversary and the Golden Jubilee of his celebrated journalistic career, the former Governor of Assam and litterateur Mr JB Pattnaik unveiled the movie cover.

Conceptualized and produced by known feature writer, journalist and filmmaker Mr Nilambar Rath, the documentary has captured the glimpses of the eventful life of Mr Das spanning half a century including his childhood, early education, professional career, international visits, laurels and association with social and professional organizations.  The film has been directed by Mr Ashok Balabantaray and Ms Moulikanta Mishra.

Released under leading banner ‘Digital Village’ the documentary was exhibited before the erudite gathering and befittingly lauded. The documentary will be available online on the leading web portal ‘Odisha Live’ (www.odishalive.tv) while efforts are on to show it in various TV channels.

In the ceremony iconic personalities like Editor, Sambad, Mr Soumyaranjan Pattnaik, columnist Haraprasad Das, journalist Mr Pradosh Pattnaik, Mr Arya Kumar Gyanendra, former VC Dr Bimalendu Mohanty, music exponent and writer Mr Prafulla Kar, wife of Mr Das Ms Pramada Das, his son based at Yugoslavia Mr Chandan Das,  intellectuals and journalists were present.
