IIMUN inaugurated at DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur

“Students should involve themselves in constructive social issues apart from studying. They should inculcate the true ideals of great leaders like Gandhiji & Netaji. Schools are now a days cater to the leadership instinct of the students community,” opined Dr. Arun Kumar Sahoo, Minister for Panchayati Raj & Law, Govt. of Odisha while inaugurating the 3 day long Indian International Model United Nations (IIMUN) at DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur under the aegis of IIMUN, Mumbai.

Around 150 students from Odisha & other neighbouring states have participated in the programme. Core issues like Disarmament, World Peace, Eradication of Poverty, improvement of bilateral relations, combating deadly diseases will be discussed in the conference spanning 6 technical sessions.

Principal of the host school & Regional Director, DAV Institutions Dr. K. C. Satapathy emphasized on the establishment of a knowledge society while delivering the welcome address. A documentary was shown about the aims & objectives of IIMUN. Among others, Bipin Kumar Sahoo, Principal, DAV Kalinga Nagar, Co-ordinator Indira Bhattacharya, IIMUN, Mumbai’s Director Mr. Pranav Jain, Mr. Saron Singh Mokha were on the dais as guests.

The dance troop of Raghurajpur presented the classical  ‘Gotipua’ dance to enthrall the audience. Mr. Pramod Ku. Patra & Mr. Sarbadaman Singh of the Host School anchored the programme.
