East Coast Railway observes 60th Railway Week

ECoR1To commemorate the advent of the first train in Indian soil in April 1853 between Bombay & Thane, East Coast Railway observed the 60th Railway Week this evening. Shri Rajiv Vishnoi, General Manager, East Coast Railway & Smt. Shalini Vishnoi, President, East Coast Railway Womens’ Welfare Organisation (ECoRWWO) graced the occasion as Chief Guest & Guest of Honour respectively.

Addressing Railway men & their family members, Shri Vishnoi, complimented the Railway men for the determined and devotion to their duties with a progressive attitude and for a valuable contribution in achieving the honour of the highest loading Zone in Indian Railways and for getting the Traffic Transportation Shield from the Railway Minister recently.

Informing about the achievements of East Coast Railway, Shri Vishnoi informed that, East Coast Railway has again added another glorious chapter in its history by achieving highest ever record revenue loading of 161.90 MT against 149.50MT during 2013-14 which is 8.30% more than 2013-14 financial year.

This spectacular achievement has been made even after facing various challenges faced by traffic transportation sector in the country and Indian Railways in particular. Similarly, ECoR has carried 89.84 million passenger in 2014-15 financial year against 88.83 million passenger carried in 2013-14 fiscal.

ECoR2This apart, ECoR has also bagged the Personnel Management Shield for the remarkable performance and collective achievement with motivation. General Manager also asked the Railway men to continue their efforts to make ECoR as the best zone in Indian Railways.

Merit awards and Sheilds were handed over to various officers & staff for outstanding performance. Khurda Road Division has received the Over all Efficiency Shield for performance in different fields.

Shri Sanjay Kumar Mohanty, Sr. Dy. General Manager welcomed the Guests and spoke o­n the importance of Railway Week Celebrations. Shri Sushant Kumar Purohit, Dy. General Manager offered vote of thanks on this occasion.
