JRC hosts Working Committee Meeting 2015-16 in BhubaneswarThe Working Committee Meeting of Junior Red Cross (JRC), Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch was hosted at Red Cross Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. Shri Debi Prasad Mishra, Hon’ble Minister, School & Mass Education, Industries & Chairman, JRC State Working Committee graced the occasion as Chief Guest and presided over the meeting and Sri Biswanath Pradhan, Additional Secretary, School & Mass Education Deptt., Govt. of Odisha, Shri Dakshya Prasad Nanda, President, Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, Sri Dasarathi Satpathy, OAS(SAG), Director, Secondary Education, Odisha and other members of the working Committee were also present.

At the outset Dr. Chakradhar Panda, Secretary, JRC extended a warm welcome to the members present on the occasion and subsequently placed the budget and Annual Action Plan Report before the Committee. Besides, Dr. Panda made a power point presentation on JRC Annual activities for the year 2014-2015.

Hon’ble Minister proposed that, each school of the State should create the Green fencing, Kitchen Garden, Plantation Programmes at their school premises. He added that training on Trafficking may be conducted at the road side schools and awareness may be created by developing IEC materials on the subjects.

The members expressed satisfaction on the activities of the State Branch & District Branch which was highly appreciated. The meeting ended with a formal vote of thanks by Sri Govinda Chandra Mahunta, Honorary Joint Secretary. Sri N. R. Mishra, Sr. Assistant assisted the programme.
