OAB, Social Security Dept celebrate International White Cane Day

Bhubaneswar, Oct 15: Orissa Association for the Blind (OAB) in collaboration with Department of Social Security & Empowerment for persons with Disability celebrated the International White Cane Day here. On the occasion, Ananta Narayan Jena, Mayor Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation flagged off a rally of the blind students. Caps and white canes were distributed to all participants before the rally. The objective of the event was to promote awareness about blind, disability and social security.

Bihari Naik, General Secretery(OAB); Ganeswar Satpathy, Mobility instructor SIDR; Himanshu Sekhar Bhuyan,office Secretary,(OAB ) were present on the occasion. Bihari Naik welcomed guests and participants. The function was inaugurated by the Chief guest. Sirish Chandra Das,retired , special Educator SCERT Bhubaneswar was graced the occasion as Chief Speaker.
