Special 2G Court exonerates Pramod Mahajan and Shyamal Ghosh

A special 2G court has acquitted late Pramod Mahajan and then Telecom Secretary Shyamal Ghosh in the 2002 additional spectrum allocation case, saying the CBI fabricated the case. The apex court also directed the CBI to initiate probe against the erring officials, who sought to falsely implicate late Pramod Mahajan.

Pramod Mahajan was the Telecom Minister from September 1, 2001 to January 28, 2003 during the erstwhile NDA regime. Soon after the judgement, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley slammed former Union Minister Kapil Sibal, saying he was instrumental behind the false case made by the CBI officials.
