Padma Shri Prafulla Kar felicitated at KISS

Prafulla-Kar-KISSThe 22nd Annual Day of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) was inaugurated in KISS premises on Friday. Eminent Odia singer and lyricist Padma Shri Prafulla Kar graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

On behalf of 22,500 students of KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS felicitated Shri Kar, as he was awarded the fourth highest civilian award in the country Padma Shri from Govt. of India recently.

In his speech Shri Kar said, “though hundreds of well-wishers have congratulating me these recent days, still I can’t forget the best wishes I got from 22,500 students of KISS.” Speaking to the students he said how he makes friends every day. Appreciating Dr. Samanta’s efforts towards eradication of poverty through education, he said Dr. Samanta has sacrificed himself for a smile of every poorest of the poor child.

Prafulla-KISSDr. Samanta’s is doing similar jobs what Mahatma Gandhi was doing for the nation, he added. Saswati Bal, President of KIIT & KISS blessings students and advices students to study more besides all other activities. In his speech, Dr. Samanta said about the great Odia personality Shri Kar and said, students should follow the path of Shri Kar.

He also wished Kar’s long and healthy life. Among others R. N. Dash, Secretary KIIT & KISS; Dr. P. K. Routray, CEO, KISS, Dr. P.K. Das, Director, KISS and Anu Choudhury, eminent Odia cine artist were also spoke on the occasion. Pramod Patra, ACEO presents the annual report of KISS. Delegates from South Africa, America, Nepal and Afghanistan were also witness the function. Lastly cultural programme was organized by students of KISS.
