Youth Red Cross Study-cum-Training Camp concludes in BhubaneswarBhubaneswar, Nov 27: The 5 days Inter-State Youth Red Cross Study-cum-Training camp was organised by the Youth Red Cross Unit of the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch at Red Cross Bhavan, Bhubaneswar from 22.11.2015 to 26.11.2015. More than 359 YRC Volunteers and Counsellors from different states including 30 districts of Odisha participated in the said camp.

During these 5 days Camp volunteers were trained on topics such as History of Red Cross Movement, Fundamental Principles, First Aid, HIV/AIDS, Health & Hygiene, Voluntary Blood Donation, Road Safety and Leadership & Yoga. Various competitions were organized during the camp to harness the literary potentiality of the Youth Red Cross volunteers. This camp helped the volunteers to build their capacity to render the humanitarian services to the most vulnerable people in the society.

Sri Niranjan Sahu, IAS., Collector-cum-Chairman, District Red Cross Branch, Khordha graced the valedictory ceremony of the 5 days camp as Chief Guest. Addressing to the campers, he said that Youth Red Cross volunteers should be the responsible citizen of the country being committed to root out the social evils.

Prof. Mohammed Nawaz Hasan, Principal, BJB(A) College, Bhubaneswar joined as Guest of Honour and appreciated the role of Youth Red Cross counsellors and volunteers in strengthening Red Cross movement in the country.

Dr. Govinda Chandra Pradhan, Principal Junior College graced the progarmme as Guest of Honour and advised that Youth Red Cross volunteers should provide dedicated and selfless service & imprint their mark in the hearts of people.

Dr. Chakradhar Panda, Honorary Secretary, IRCS-OSB & Secretary, Youth Red Cross extended a warm welcome and said that all lesson learnt in the camp should be disseminated in their day to day life.

Dr. Kalpana Das, YRCO Youth Red Cross Officer presented a brief report on the activities of the camp and conducted the entire 5 days training camp. The function coordinated by Dr. Sadhana Satpathy, YRC Counsellor, BJB(A) College, Bhubaneswar and vote of thanks by Dr. Kailash Chandra Dash, YRC Counsellor, BJB(A) College, Bhubaneswar.

On this occasion winners of various competitions were awarded to the Volunteers by the Chief Guest. Besides, Counsellors were also felicitated in the said programme.
