Bhartruhari Mahtab seeks renaming of Orissa HC as Odisha HC

Leader of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Lok Sabha, Bhartruhari Mahtab, has sought the renaming of Orissa High Court as Odisha High Court, saying it should be done immediately, as the state is now known as Odisha. He raised the issue in Lok Sabha during the ‘Zero Hour’. Mahtab also drew attention to the fact that many High Courts such as Bombay HC, Madras HC and Calcutta HC have not been renamed it even though the cities were renamed long ago.
