Dhawan hits 53*, Kohli 45*; India 128/2 at Stumps on Day 1

After losing two wickets for just 28 runs on board, India staged a strong fightback in Galle Test, as Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli added an unbeaten 100-run partnership to take the score to 128/2 at Stumps on Day 1. Dhawan is batting on 53, while Kohli is on 45. For Sri Lanka, Dhammika Prasad and Angelo Mathews took one wicket each. Lokesh Rahul (7) and Rohit Sharma (9) failed with the bat.

Earlier, Sri Lanka bowled out for 183, thanks to Ashwin’s 6/46. Amit Mishra took two wickets. Mathews (64), Chandimal (59) and Herath (23) were the top scorers.
