Indo-Nepal Joint Army Exercise ‘Surya Kiran-Xi’ begins today

Indo-Nepal Joint Army Exercise -Surya Kiran-XiAn Indo-Nepal joint war exercise ‘Surya Kiran Xi’ has begun from today at Pithoragarh area of Uttarakhand and will conclude on 20 March.

As many as 600 Army jawans from India & Nepal will participate in a 14 day joint war exercise under the aegis of Panchshul Brigade of the Surya Command.

The Joint Battalion level exercise will enhance the defense cooperation and relations between the two nations. The exercise will also focus on other important aspects such as Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Relief (HADR) operations and environmental conservation.

Notably, in the series of military training exercises undertaken by India with various countries, Surya Kiran series with Nepal is the largest in terms of troop participation.

The Surya Kiran series of exercises are being conducted annually, alternatively in Nepal and India.
