PM Modi faces protests at Ambedkar University in Lucknow

PM Modi had to face protests during a speech for the first time while delivering a speech at the Ambedkar University in Lucknow during the convocation ceremony. 3/4 Dalit students shouted ‘Modi Go Back’, ‘Modi Murdabad’ and ‘Inquilab Zindabad’. They were evicted immediately.

However, other Dalit students welcomed them with much enthusiasm. They alleged that some students protested to seek political mileage and media attention.

PM Modi gets emotional while remembering Rohith at Ambedkar University in Lucknow. He expressed deep regret and anguish at Rohith’s suicide. “Reasons (behind the suicide) and politics (on the issue) may have their own place but the fact remains that a mother has lost her son,” he said.

Meanwhile, HRD Ministry orders judicial probe into #RohithVemula suicide at Hyderabad Central University. The probe report need to be submitted within three months.
