Happy Birthday Vajpayee Ji! We miss You!

ONI Bureau: Many of us still remember that fateful day of 2004 when our world crumbled with the news that a great, visionary leader like Atal Bihari Vajpayee was forced to retire into political wilderness following a shocking defeat of his party in the Lok Sabha polls.

Call it arrogance of the party, negative impact of ‘India Shining’ campaign, hasty decision to prepone polls or Gujarat riots, BJP lost 2004 election to an alliance, which never existed during the elections. However, if a person whose dreams to build a New India was shattered, was none other than Atal Bihari Vajpayee. His work remained unfulfilled. He was so shocked and upset that he never again took the lead.

Vajpayee’s message was loud and clear for the people who voted him out of power – “if you don’t need me, let me retire. And, you get what your deserve”. A soft and moderate leader with statesman qualities – Vajpayee Ji has shown the world India’s prowess. He is admired not only within his own party, but also among his rivals and critics too.

On your Birth Anniversary, we miss you Vajpayee Ji! A leader like you may not be born again in India. When it comes to ‘Trust’, only you have it, not others whether in your party or outside. We, the Indians are unfortunate to lose your experience and expertise that would turn India into a global power had you retained power 13 years ago! We are pain to see you in bad health today. Wish if you could recover and speak a few words to your admirers! We know, God can’t be so kind to us!
