10-Day Pattachitra Artistes’ Camp concludes in BhubaneswarBhubaneswar, Nov 10: The 10-day long ‘Pattachitra Artistes’ Camp’ was concluded here on Monday.  Culture and Tourism Minister Ashok Chandra Panda graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Panda said young artists across the globe showing interest in learning ‘Pattachitra’, a traditional painting of Odisha. He said the state government has been initiating efforts to promote this Pattachitra and the painting is one of the oldest art forms of Odisha.

On the occasion, the minister felicitated 28 artists and inaugurated an art exhibition showing the art work including Pattachitra paintings made by the participants in the camp. He presented certificates and shawls to the participants.

The camp was organized jointly by Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi, Friends Art & Crafts Society and State Khadi and Gramodyoga Board under the aegis of Culture Department, Odisha government.

MLAs Bijay Kumar Mohanty and Priyadarshi Mishra, Khadi Board President Tejeshwar Parida, , Lalita Kala Akademi President Shiba Panigrahi, Friends Art, Craft Society President Subimal Panigrahi and others dignitaries were present on the occasion.
