2 Youths arrested for threatening Basant Panda using Toy Guns

Basant-PandaInsight Bureau: Two BJP Workers from Barang area, have been arrested for threatening party’s state unit President Basant Panda in Bhubaneswar.

Although they used toy guns, their intention was dangerous. They have been identified as Pinak Mohanty and Sambit Panda.

The youths revealed that they wanted Basant Panda’s help to close down a comedy programme on TV, but when he refused to help, they threatned him. One of them claimed to be the Vice President of BJP’s Barang unit.

The BJP disowned the youths and lodged an FIR that two miscreants had barged into their party office and issued death threats to State Unit President Basant Panda. The Kharavela Nagar Police took the youths into custody.

Meanwhile, Basant Panda clarified that he did not know both the youths, but they had come to meet him yesterday, seeking financial  assistance for the father of one of them. He had asked them to come with the documents. He suspected foul play in this case.
