24-hr Private Bus strike in Odisha today

The Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association on Thursday hold state-wide 24-hour halt in bus movement, demanding immediate release of Maharaja bus owner, who was arrested on last Friday in connection with the Athmallick bus accident in Angul district on September 9 causing death of 19 persons.

Around 18,000 buses stop plying across the state from 6 am on September 29 to 6 am on September 30.

The private bus owners will hold indefinite strike from October 7 if the Maharaja bus owner is not released immediately.

Normal life came to a standstill in many parts of the State today due to the bus strike.
