5 School children killed after truck runs over them in Odisha’s Bhadrak dist

ONI Bureau:  In one of the most heartbreaking incidents, at least five children were killed and over six critically injured after a speeding 10-wheeler truck ran over them on National Highway – 16 at Ranitela of Bhadrak district.

The incident took place while the students were returning from school today evening.

The injured were rushed to the Bhadrak district headquarters hospital. The condition of two of them was reported to be critical.

The angry locals and parents torched the truck though the driver and helper were managed to flee from the spot.

Expressing grief over the incidents, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of the kin of the deceased.
