6 Odisha MLAs yet to get Government Accommodation

In a surprise revelation, the Odisha Government has admitted that at least 5 Odisha MLAs are yet to get government quarters – Sanatan Mahakud, Chandrasarathi Behera, Chiranjeeb Biswal, Purna Chandra Nayak, and Rajendra Kumar Sahoo.

Nitesh Gangdev was allotted the quarter, but failed to occupy it, as it is not vacated yet. Another MLA Saroj Kumar Samal did not occupy the quarter although he was allotted one.

On the other hand, 15 MLAs and Ministers have occupied the MLA Quarters despite owning bungalows of the GA Department. They include Sanand Marandi, Narasingh Mishra, Ananta Das, Bikram Keshari Arukh, Ashok Chandra Panda, Jogendra Behera, Pradip Panigrahi, Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Bhujbal Majhi, Nrusingha Charan Sahu, Prafulla Majhi, Subrat Tarai, Subal Sahu, Rabi Narayan Nayak and Ramesh Patua. Puri MLA Maheswar Mohanty occupies two MLA quarters.

The revelation was made by CM Naveen Patnaik in a reply to the question raised by BJP MLA from Rourkela, Dilip Ray.
