Bhasha Andolan enters Day 7, Government turns Deaf Ear

Bhasha-AndolanEven as more and more eminent personalities and senior citizens are joining the Bhasha Andolan, demanding the enforcement of 1954 Odia Language Act to ensure Governance of Odisha in Odia, the government has turned a deaf ear to them. CM Naveen Patnaik has not even bothered to take note of the silent agitation.

On Day 7 of the agitation, foreign-returned renowned Doctor and inventor of ‘Mishra Technique’, Dr. Ashok Mishra, Ex Vice Chancellor of Sanskrit University and Columnist Dr. Bimalendu Mohanty, Kendra Sahitya Akademi member and Pakhighar Prakashan’s Banoj Tripathy and noted Poet Saroj Bal took part in the silent black flag March from the Odisha Assembly to Madhu Babu’s statue at Governor’s House square.

Bhasha-Andolan-Day7Upon completion of the protest march, the eminent personalities were greeted by key intellectuals Pradyumna Satpathy, Subhas Chandra Pattanayak, Tusarkanta Satpathy, Pabitra Maharatha, Ashwini Kausar Swain, Pabitra Mohan Samal, Subhas Chandra Pradhan, Nanda Kishore Samal, Siba Prasad Patnaik, Devi Prasanna Nayak, Mohan Sundar Dalasinghray, Rajyavardhan Jena etc.

The movement will become intense in the coming days with the participating of more intellectuals and key personalities of the society, said Convener Pabitra Maharatha.
