BJD stages demonstration against Fuel price hike

ONI Bureau: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) youth and students’ wing today staged demonstration near Master Canteen square, protesting rise in fuel prices across India.

Shouting slogans against Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan,  around hundreds of BJD members, some rode bullock carts carried out a rally over oil price hike.

Speaking on fuel price hike, former Odisha Food and Supply Minister Sanjay Das Burma said, the petrol and diesel prices had breached the Rs 71 and Rs 61 marks respectively. That’s a hike of 9 paise per litre of petrol, while diesel is up by 14-16 paise per litre and oil prices have now set a new record since August 2014.
