The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has crossed 10-lakh membership mark in Odisha ever since the membership drive was launched by BJP President Amit Shah during his Odisha visit. It was revealed by BJP’s Odisha In-Charge Arun Singh.
The BJP has a target of achieving 40 lakh members in Odisha by March 31, 2015. Arun Singh expressed confidence that the target would be achieved within deadline. He also claimed that around 70 leaders of ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) have given missed calls to join the BJP. “I will reveal the names very soon,” he said.
The BJP also announced ‘Booth Chalo, Sadasya Banao’ campaign, which will be launched very soon. The Prabhari (In-Charge) and Saha Prabhari (Co-In-Charge) of 445 blocks of Odisha will work hard to speed up the membership drive at the block level.
Arun Singh also slammed the BJD leaders for using muscle power to launch attacks on BJP’s student leaders (ABVP) such as Manas Das (Utkal University), Sipun Das (Anandpur) and Hemaranjan Barik (Ghatagaon).
