BJP, Congress begin post-mortem of Bijepur By-poll results

ONI Bureau:  Amid intense debate over the poor show in Bijepur Bypoll, the BJP and Congress has begun post-mortem of poll results.

Speaking to media persons Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the party accepted the mandate of the people and its defeat. BJP will introspect the reasons behind the dismal show in Bijepur Bypoll whereas BJP candidate Ashok Panigrahi said Congress vote totally diverted to BJD and the victory of BJD is murder of democracy and triumph of black money.

Former PCC president Niranjan Patnaik blamed State Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) & All India Congress Committee (AICC) for defeat in by-poll. Patnaik also said to newsmen that delayed in selection of candidate also responsible for the defeat.

However, senior Congress leader Suresh Chandra Routray said that their party has begged for the votes before the voters door to door but other parties spent much money to win the elections. In that circumstances that was quite difficult to win the contest.
