BMC plans ‘Ekamra Walks’ to showcase Old Town Heritage

The Temple City Bhubaneswar will start its heritage walk “Ekamra Walks” every week starting this Sunday at 6 am from Mukteswar Temple in the Old Town area.

The walk would end at the Mukteswar Temple again covering around 2 km via various temples and land marks in old town area including Lingaraj Temple Precinct, Bindusagar, Pabaneswar, Taleswar, Ratha Road any many more.

The Walks will have minimum 30 people in a group who will provide guide assistance. The tour will also help the visitors to make interactions with priests, local inhabitants and get the knowledge of rituals.

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Odisha Tourism and the Bhubanswar Development Authority (BDA) will organise the event every week with an aim to promote art, culture, heritage and promote Odisha tourism.

Odisha Government has also plan to include cycle tours to the list of activities in the Heritage District of the Smart City in future.
