Border Dispute: Odisha pulls down Bengal Sign Board

ONI Bureau:  Balasore district administration today demolished signage board put up by West Bengal Government at Udayapur near Digha following a border dispute between the states.

The neighboring State authorities have put up a welcome sign board to Udaypur beach last month by intruding 20-meters inside on Odisha territory.  Though the Odisha Revenue department informed to the Bengal authorities, they ignorance about it.

West Bengal had earlier made several attempts to encroach villages in Balasore district and Mayurbhanj. West Bengal had earlier claimed that Udaypur beach (of Balasore) was discovered by Bengal.

Worth mentioning, as many as 38 villages, including 35 of Balasore and three of Mayurbhanj of Odisha is sharing border with West Bengal.
