Central Team hails Odisha Govt’s efforts to check Japanese Encephalitis in Malkangiri

With the demise of one more child due to Japanese Encephalitis in Malkangiri district on Monday, the death toll climbed to 68  in last 46 days.

Meantime, a 6-member Central team visited the district to review the health situation following the outbreak of Japanese Encephalitis.

Reportedly, the Central team has praised the district administration and the state government for their efforts in checking the deadly virus in the district.

Notably, the Japanese Encephalitis (JE) have transmitted by mosquitoes to humans and the pigs act as hosts for the Japanese Encephalitis Virus (JEV).
