Central Team to visit 8 Drought hit Districts in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Oct 7: Following directives from the Union Agriculture Minister and Farmers Welfare a team has been formed to take stock of drought situation in Odisha. A five member team comprising Additional Commissioner of Agriculture Minister R P Malik will visit Bargah and Sonepue districts today.

The central team members are likely to visit eight drought-affected districts in the state. They will review the drought situation in the state. The senior officials of Odisha government will also accompany the team during visit to drought hit areas. According to sources, a representative of Central Rice Research Institute, Cuttack will also be in the team during the visit of Central team to Odisha. They will hold discussion with the State Agriculture Director after the assessment of the drought-affected districts in the state.
