Centre Objects to Odisha Govt Using Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana Logo On PMAY-G Houses

The Centre has raised objections on the use of Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana (BPGY) logo on the houses provided under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G).

In a letter to Odisha Chief Secretary, Nagendra Nath Sinha, Secretary of Department of Rural Development mentioned the co-branding of PMAY-G houses with the state government scheme of Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana and said it is not permissible.

“I wish to reiterate here that the scheme PMAY-G has been approved by the Union Cabinet as a centrally sponsored scheme. It is to be implemented in its original form and under the name of PMAY-G,” the letter read.  

“The contribution of minimum State share from state resources is a commitment by the State Government for implementation of Centrally Sponsored Scheme and it does not confer the rights to the State Government for use of any other logo other than PMAY-G,” it added.
