Champua NAC Polls concludes peacefully, voting at 83 Percent

electionBhubaneswar, Jan 20: The polling for Champua NAC was completed peacefully on Tuesday in which more than 83 percent of voters exercised their franchise. The voting was held for 13 Wards and the fate of 41 contestants were sealed in a EVM box. The counting of votes will be held on Thursday.

The ruling BJD and opposition BJP had fielded 13 each candidates for the election while Congress contested in 8 wards. Also seven independent candidates are in the race. More than 83 percent turnout was recorded on Tuesday as 7922 voters participated in the polls out of total 9508 voters in the NAC.

The election was conducted by the returning officer, Sangram  Keshari Swain ADM, Keonjhar with the  direct supervision of Dr. N.Tirumlanaik  DM,  Keonjhar, Kabita Jallan SP, Keojhar.
