CM approves Odia Chair at Jawaharlal Nehru University

Bhubaneswar, Sep 23: In a significant development, Odisha Chief Minsiter Naveen Patnaik  on Tuesday  approved to a proposal to set up Odia chair at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi.

“Government approves establishment of chair in Odia Language, literature and cultural studies in JNU,” Naveen twitted.

The state government has proposed to set up Odia chair on Odia language, literature and culture studies at JNU. The move by the state government would be another major step towards its approach to get classical language status to Odia.  The chair will set up under the Centre of Indian Languages, which will provide adequate sector for research on Odia language and culture.
