Roshan Kumar – 1st Player from Nabarangpur to get Ranji Trophy Call

P-Roshan-KumarP Roshan Kumar Rao, the 21-year-old youngster from Jharigam village of Nabarangpur district, became the first player from the district to make it to Odisha Ranji Trophy team. Roshan’s family, friends as well as people in Nabarangpur, have erupted into joy and celebration, as the team was announced yesterday.

Roshan Kumar, who is a wicket-keeper batsman, was included into the Odisha T20 earlier this year. He even played an impressive knock of 48 off 34 balls with 6 boundaries and a six, as Odisha defeated Mumbai team by 17 runs in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Super League.

Roshan has so far played 8 T20 matches at the state level and scored 93 runs with the career best 48. He took 11 catches and triggered 3 stumping dismissal.

Roshan was born on December 28, 1993. He played in Odisha Under-16 team before getting the break into the state team. He has been staying in Bhubaneswar for long due to his training and practice. Roshan got a break, as seasoned wicket-keeper Haladhar Das was dropped from the team. Roshan will be the second wicket-keeper in the team after Rajesh Dhupar.
